Operation Resilience: Alpha Company 2-508

“The only way we can go from here is forward. I don’t see anyone going backward.”

- Veteran Patrick Duddy

The Independence Fund was proud to host the incredible heroes of Alpha Company 2-508 for their first Operation Resilience retreat to prevent Veteran suicide!

Many participants said this trip was not only life-changing but lifesaving. Life after service has not been easy for this group; A Co 2-508 is part of a battalion that lost nearly 20 members while deployed to Afghanistan. The battalion lost more than 50 additional heroes to suicide when they returned home from battle.

Visit The Independence Fund's website to see what the A Co 2-508 Veterans have to say about their experiences.

By attending this retreat, these heroes worked together with The Independence Fund to solidify the bonds of brotherhood that saw them through battle, so those bonds can see them through the rest of their lives.

OpRes addresses the critical issue of Veteran suicide by reuniting combat units who saw heavy combat overseas and have returned home to a new battle: Veteran suicide. Supporting OpRes directly contributes to building a stronger community where Veterans can heal, find support, and access the resources they need to lead a fulfilling life post-service.
