Month of the Military Caregiver 2025

As May, the Month of the Military Caregiver, continues, you can take action to understand the selfless sacrifices made daily by these unseen heroes.

You can also choose to step up and support the Caregiver Program, which makes a tangible difference in their lives, bettering their futures.

See what Caregivers have to say about the program on The Independence Fund’s website.

While May shines a spotlight on their vital role, Military Caregivers need support year-round.

When most people hear the word Caregiver, they think of a nurse or medical professional. But for our nation’s wounded heroes, Caregivers are most often their spouses, parents, or even children. They‘re the loved ones who provide round-the-clock care at home so these Veterans can live with dignity outside of institutional settings.

These Caregivers manage medications, assist with mobility and daily hygiene, and provide critical emotional and cognitive support. Their work is unrelenting.

There are no weekends off, no holidays, no hazard pay—only love, loyalty, and sacrifice.

It is through The Independence Fund’s Caregiver Program that Veteran Caregivers can attend retreats, enjoy respite, and build their communities.
