Battle Veteran Suicide with Operation Resilience
Nearly every hour, our nation loses Veterans to suicide.

The Independence Fund has been laser-focused on answering this question as an organization through the Operation Resilience (OpRes) program since 2019.
The OpRes program addresses the critical issue of Veteran suicide by emphasizing the power of connectivity and peer support through the rekindling of camaraderie forged in the crucible of combat. This is accomplished by reuniting units over a weekend-long retreat.

Since 2019, more than 600 Veterans have benefitted from OpRes. The Veterans who attend participate in activities to promote their mental and physical wellness, while bringing them together to talk about and process their shared experiences through the bond of brotherhood.
The Independence Fund takes on the full cost of an OpRes retreat. It is crucial to keep this event accessible to all unit members, near and far. Attending a retreat can mean the difference between isolation and a new perspective. These retreats can only be made possible through supportive donors like you.
