Celebrating Caregivers of Wounded Veterans

For Caregivers of wounded Veterans, life is not measured by typical milestones. Instead, it is measured by appointments, medical triumphs or declines, procedures, and the number of days after combat. Caregivers step in when the call of duty has dealt a severe blow. They spend their days living beyond the call and serve at home with sacrifice and resilience.

The Independence Fund is proud to serve Caregivers of all eras and was the first VSO to host a national retreat for male Caregivers: the fathers, husbands, and brothers of our nation’s wounded. By providing small group retreats, military Caregivers are provided not only with an opportunity for respite, but a chance to receive resources, support, and empowerment in a peer-to-peer environment.

Your ongoing support means that Caregivers - who are grappling with a normal they never anticipated - are equipped, uplifted, and most importantly never alone. By making a gift to The Independence Fund’s Caregiver retreat, you are providing the opportunity for more retreats and more comprehensive and individualized programming in which Caregivers engage post-event.

For Caregivers the war doesn’t end, and The Independence Fund, with your support, will be there, standing in the gap alongside this brave community.
